PRVO provides free income tax preparation through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Grant Program. This is an IRS initiative designed to promote and support free tax preparation services for the underserved, in both urban and non-urban locations. Services are targeted to low-to-moderate income individuals, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English speaking. This year PRVO helped 865 Individuals receive free Income Tax Assistance. The agency set up Volunteer Income Assistance (VITA) sites in Laurel, Hattiesburg, New Augusta, and Collins.

Case Managers also helped individuals open savings accounts and incorporate their tax returns dollars into their household budgets.  PRVO has provided money management training for 192 individuals. As a result, individuals were able to maintain financial stability, provide for their household needs, and become self-sufficient.
