A congregate meal is a nutritionally balanced meal served in a specific location such as a community or senior center. Congregate meals are primarily for the fairly mobile senior population. In order to qualify for this program individual must be age 60 or older. PRVO operates congregate meal sites in Forrest, Jones, Marion, and Pearl River Counties. Funding is provided by the Southern Mississippi Planning & Development District.

Each meal site provides to its participants the added benefit of a reduced feeling of isolation and increased sense of independence. The sites offer a location for active seniors to socialize and connect with other active seniors within their community. Activities at each center varies from Bingo, quilting and checkers to workshops educating the seniors on healthcare issues, diabetic care and supplies, and proper nutrition. 

Seniors citizens are provided a nutritious lunch five days per week and an opportunity to engage in various interactive social activities. PRVO operates senior centers at four locations in Lamar County. Locations are in Lumberton, Oak Grove, Purvis, and Sumrall. Funding and locations for centers were provided by the Lamar County Board of Supervisors.

PRVO also operates congregate meal sites in Forrest , Jones, Lamar, Marion and Pearl River Counties. This service is provided in conjunction with the Lamar County Board of Supervisors and the Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District. This past year PRVO provided 20,928 congregate meals to 2,403 senior citizens.
